If you're using a LightBug tracking device as a vehicle GPS tracker (e.g. car GPS tracker, motorbike GPS tracker) we recommend the following settings. These are only suggestions, but using them as a guide will help you to get the most out of your vehicle tracker.

Vehicle GPS Tracker Settings

Account Settings

If you would like to receive regular updates, independent of whether the device is moving or not, we recommend the Standard Data Plan. This is great for general monitoring and will generally result in better battery life.

If you would like to receive updates when the vehicle is moving, or an alert when the vehicle leaves a particular area (e.g. a garage), we recommend the Unlimited Data Plan for tracking your vehicle as it enables motion detection.

You can update your data plan here.

Tracker Settings

If you decide that the Standard Data Plan is best for you then follow the steps directly below. If you have selected the Unlimited Data Plan skip to the tracker settings for that plan.

General monitoring: Standard Data Plan settings

1. On the app go to Menu - select 'Tracker Settings'
